WELLING UTD 4
TRURO CITY 3
Truro City relinquished a two goal lead away at high-flying Welling on Saturday, but the result was mired in controversy due to the sending off of player manager Lee Hodges.
City were 3-1 up and comfortbale when Hodges was shown a straight red card after being adjudged to have upended a Welling player in the box.
Joe Healy converted the spot kick to hand the Wings a lifeline, and with City reduced to ten men they were powerless to prevent Ross Lafayette from netting the equaliser, before Anthony Acheampong nicked a winner deep into stoppage time.
It was a cruel blow to the visitors who up until that point had been in complete control, going a goal down before taking the lead courtesy of a brace from top-scorer Kieffer Moore, and a strike from Andy Watkins.
The win caps off a miserable weekend for Truro, whose bus broke down on the way to Welling on Friday night. The club are now 14 points from safety at the bottom of the Blue Square Bet Conference South
