Ladies's captain Lesley Upperton 'drives in'
Lesley Upperton, the new Budock Vean ladies’ captain, enjoyed a good day at her Drive-In on Wednesday.
The Ladies turned out in force and were greeted with a welcoming drink. Lesley, having struck an impressive ‘ceremonial’ drive, then led her team of Deidre Neale and Gill Sulley to first place in the ensuing competition.
Runner up were Shirley Mildren, Marlene Williams and Samantha Tolchard.
The Annual “Cross Country” as usual attracted a large entry with both the ladies and gents sections well represented and keen to flex their muscles.

The Champion “sloggers” on the day were the quartet of David Penrose, David Stevens, Kevin Bate and Bob Hartnell with 41 net 34.7.
Runners up were Geoff Mills, Rod Butler, Charlie Averiss and David Townsend with a gross 42 net 36.3.
