8:56am
5:00pm
It's been a rough day for a lot of sides. Bodmin crashed out of the FA Vase 1-0 at home against Gornal. Helston were knocked out of the Senior Cup by St Ives on penalties after drawing 1-1 over 90 minutes, and Porthleven slumped to a 5-2 home defeat at the hands of Dobwalls at Gala Parc.
4:58pm
Cruel on Town. They played well, and were the better side for large parts of the game. But Liverton took their chances, that's the bottom line.
4:56pm
And that's it! Final whistle goes. Final score:
FALMOUTH TOWN 1 LIVERTON UNITED 2
4:50pm
Jamie Webb goes through the back of Stuart Bowker. Yellow card. Not what Town need at this point.
4:48pm
claims for a penalty as Turner goes down in the box. No chance says the ref.
4:48pm
Whipp plays in Wearne but it's nicked off his feret at the last second! corner for Town!
4:47pm
Turner has a go on the volley, but it's wide. Not long left now!
4:46pm
Time almost up here at Bickland and Liverton have a free kick at the wrong end of the pitch. Town break quickly...
4:45pm
Les gilbert bellowing from the sidelines, Town desperately searching for that equaliser as the clock ticks down. Shaugnessy goes for glory and shoots from range. It's poor. A sigh from the Falmouth bench.
4:43pm
A cross into the box finds Rob Wearne, who nods the ball back across goal for Dan Richardson to score. surely too late for Town though!?
FALMOUTH TOWN 1 LIVERTON UNITED 2
4:42pm
GOAL! FALMOUTH!
4:42pm
Karl Turner comes on for Steve Floyd-Norris. Barely five minutes left now.
4:38pm
Shaughnessy goes into the ref's book for a petulant kick on a Liverton player. Frustration showing now.
4:37pm
Harsh on Town, but they've created very little it has to be said.
4:36pm
AND HE SCORES! 0-2 Liverton!
4:36pm
Jeffries trips Chamberlain in the box and the ref points to the spot. This could be it for Town. Bowker to take it.
4:35pm
PENALTY LIVERTON!
4:35pm
Richard Kellow intercepts the ball deep in the Liverton half, races to the byline and delivers a low cross into the box. Put Liverton get a leg on it, and the defelction is straight into the arms of Hardie.
4:32pm
Penryn beat Wellington 26-17 at the Memorial Ground.
4:31pm
A ball over the top find giant Liverton centre back Ollie Booth in acres of space, but he seems as shocked as everyone else, and scuffs his shot straight at Jason Chapman. Town living dangerously. That was sloppy.
4:29pm
Stamina-sapping in all this mud. Town have calmed down a bit now, but Liverton look comfortable. They win another corner...
4:28pm
If either side could string a pass together now...that would be nice. To say it's scrappy would be an understatement. But then the pitch has cut up something awful.
4:27pm
All a bit niggly at the moment. Town players complaining about a couple of high elbows.
4:25pm
It's backs against the wall for Falmouth at the moment, but then a quick break sees Dan Richardson in a yard of space on the edge of the box. His shot is tame and wide.
4:23pm
Helston are out of the Charity cup after losing on penalties against St Ives.
4:22pm
Could have been worse for Town. chamberlain clear through but lofts his shot over the bar. Another let-off. It's all Liverton at the moment.
4:19pm
Sun peeks through the clouds, but it's not likely to brighten Les Gilbert or Robbie Stephens' mood at the moment. they've gone quiet on the Falmouth touchline.
4:17pm
All Liverton at the moment. Town look shell shocked. Another free kcik condede in a dangerous position 20 yards out.
4:16pm
And it's Nick Laughton with the opener! Pope conceded a free kick wide on the right, and the ball was delivered into the box by Ollie Booth. Falmouth had two chances to clear, but there was Rudge to blst into the top of the net from all of two yards out at the second time of asking.
FALMOUTH TOWN 0 LIVERTON UNITED 1
4:15pm
GOAL LIVERTON!
4:11pm
Whipp with a mazy run on the edge of the box, the ball dribbles to Pope after a Liverton challenge, but his shot goes well over the bar. It'd be nice for Pope to score on his 250th appearance.
4:10pm
Redruth have edged out Launceston 10-9 in the Cornish derby, but it looks like Helston and St Ives are going to penalties in the Charity Cup.
4:08pm
Liverton break quickly and fire a cross into the box, but Lee Jeffries shepherds it back to Chapman via a painful part of his anatomy. Chapman gathers the ball and pats him on the head in sympathy.
4:06pm
Whipp fires over from the edge of the box from a corner. Bright start by Town.
4:05pm
Shaughnessy takes a shot on goal from the edge of the box, but it's tame. Positive stuff from Town.
4:04pm
And we're off. Town immediately get a cross into the box thanks to Richard Kellow. Too close to the keeper though.
4:01pm
Teams filtering out for the second half. This is going to be interesting, no doubt. Can Town finally register that elusive first win under Gilbert and Stephens?
4:01pm
Teams filtering out for the second half. This is going to be interesting, no doubt. Can Town finally register that elusive first win under Gilbert and Stephens?
4:00pm
Whipp's been excellent in midfield, as has Ross Pope. Shaughnesy's had an excellent first half, but he's been guilty of wanting a touch (or ten) too many ayt crucial moments when the easy ball was the better choice.
3:59pm
So it's been fairly even so far. Liverton have ahd a couple of long range efforts that haven't really troubled Jason Chapman, and Town have had a couple of decent crosses into the box which the visitors have cleared comfortably.

3:57pm
Penryn are beating lowly Foxhole 4-0 at Kernick Road. Half time there too.
3:55pm
Tom Whipp was involved in an ugly on-the-pitch altercation with Pat Shaughnessy just before half time. Shaughnessy sounded like he was after a dust up. Astonishing.
3:54pm
...deep breath.
3:54pm
Porthleven are now 4-2 down at home against Dobwalls in the Charity Cup. Bodmin are a goal down at Priory Park against Gornal in the fifth round of the FA Vase. When last we heard, Helston were drawing 1-1 with St Ives in their Charity Cup quarter final, and Truro are drawing 1-1 away at Hayes and Yeading.
3:52pm
Quick look at what's going on around the grounds so far...
3:51pm
Halkf time here at Bickland Park and it's 0-0
3:49pm
Sounds like a thriller at Gala Parc. Porthleven 3-2 down against Dobwalls in the Chairty Cup. Freddie Williams has scored both of Port's goals.
3:46pm
@Packetsport how's wearne doing
— @PenrynAthletic 09 February 2013
3:43pm
Jordan Lam breaks down the right, but he dawdles on the ball and allows Town to get back and defend. There were two players clear in the box for Liverton. that was a real letoff for Town.
3:42pm
This has been a good first half performance by Town. It's fairly even at the moment. Neither side have created much, although Liverton do look dangerous on the break. Like now....
3:41pm
Another shot on goal from Liverton, and again it's from range. An easy daisy cutter for Jason Chapman to pick up.
3:40pm
Shaughnessy arguing with Whipp for some reason. 'Leave it out, Pat!' bellows Robbie Stephens from the touchline.
3:37pm
Tom Whipp with a superb sliding tackle to break up a Liverton attack. Town very much on top at the moment. I think alongside Shaughnessy, Whipp has had an excellent opening half hour.
3:36pm
Rain's stopped. Fancy that.
3:36pm
Falmouth break quickly with Kellow, who finds Shaughnessy, but for some unknown reason rather than cross early he tries some kind of Cruyff turn/stepover hybrid and gives the ball away. Shame, he's been Town's best player so far.
3:34pm
Here at Bickland Park it's Falmouth Town 0 Liverton United 0.
3:34pm
Penryn now 4-0 up against Foxhole. Helston drawing 1-1 at St IVes, and Bodmin traling in the FA Vase 1-0 at home against Gornal.
3:33pm
Whipp and Shaughnessy again combine well. Whipp's low cross is cleared by Liverton, who've looked solid at the back so far. Rob Wearne's had a quiet game up to now, but after so long out, that's understandable.
3:32pm
Liverton have a free kick down by the corner flag. A ball into the box isn't cleared properly, and Ollie booth takes a crack from range. Plenty of 'ooohs' and 'aaahs' from the Liverton bench as it goes wide.
3:30pm
Dan Kingscote goes through the back of Dan Richardson, then claims to have won the ball when a free kick's given. Which he did. After launching Richardson a foot in the air.
3:29pm
Magic sponge engaged! Along with magic water bottle! Whipp looks fine, he's on his feet.
3:29pm
Tom Whipp goes down injured. He looks to be in some pain. All a bit worrying for Falmouth. Fetch the magic sponge!
3:27pm
Apparently Bodmin manager Darren Gilbert's been sent to the stand at Priory Park. I can't imagine Falmouth's Gilbert ever getting that worked up to be honest. He's sharing a joke with the Liverton bench.
3:25pm
Those grey clouds I told you about earlier? Well they were rain clouds after all. Down it comes.
3:24pm
Dan Richardson curls it over the wall but it's easy for Ben Hardie. Town playing well at the moment, pressing all over the pitch. Liverton look far from comfortable.
3:24pm
Helston are back level at St Ives. Bodmin stil trailing Gornal at Priory Park. Here at Bickland it's 0-0, but Town have a free kick 15 yards out.
3:22pm
Decent game this. Both sides looking to get forward, some full blooded challenges. Proper football. Liverton are in the ascendancy at the moment. Just.
3:21pm
Keep an eye out tonight. If you look up and see a bright light in the sky it's likely to be Craig Fenners' cross. I don't expect that'll come back down for a good week or two. Terrible effort.
3:19pm
Nick Rudge thumps a low cross into the near post and Chapman palms it out for a corner.
3:19pm
Liverton break quickly down the right. It's three on three, but the ball into the box is too close to Chapman, who gobbles it up. That could've been nasty for Town. United have real pace up front.
3:18pm
I mentioned footballing fashion faux pas' earlier, well Richard Kellow is wearing black long johns. I'm saying nothing.
3:17pm
Shaughnessy's doing exactly what Gilbert and Stephens hoped he would. He's holding the ball up beautifully at the moment, allowing Wearne and Pope to play off him.
3:16pm
Bodmin are a goal down against Gornal.
3:15pm
This is good stuff from town at the moment. Whipp and Kellow are looking tidy going forward, but then Jamie Webb has to make a good tackle to stop Liam Jordan from having a clear run on goal.
3:13pm
First shot on goal from Liverton, and it's Jamie Chamberlain. His long range effort whistles well wide from all of 25 yards.
3:13pm
Liverton's turn to look nervous. A clearance is hammered straight into the chest of Shaughnessy and almost bounces kindly for Wearne, but the visitors scramble it clear.
3:11pm
Sloppy back pass is cleared by Jason Chapman. Town need to calm it down a bit at the moment. Shaughnessy, Whipp and Richardson combine well in midfield, but the through ball for Shaughnessy is poor and Liverton clear.
3:09pm
And no sooner have I praised him, Shaughnessy, in his distinctive orange boots, squanders possession trying to be clever. Liverton free kick just inside the Town half.
3:08pm
Liverton's number 9 Jamie Chamberlain looks pretty rapid. Town will need to be wise to his obvious pace. Nervy clearance by Floyd-Norris from a pass by Shaughnessy, who's had a good start.
3:07pm
Kellow again links well with Whipp, but Town lose the ball in midfield. A Liverton cross into the box is cleared easily by Floyd-Norris.
3:05pm
Grey clouds scudding over Bickland as Town make a confidfent start. Decent exchange between Richard Kellow and Ross Pope leads to a cross into the box, but it's cleared easily.
3:03pm
And we're off!
3:02pm
Temas are on the pitch, second from kickoff.
2:58pm
Tom Whipp's another of Town's recent signings to have impressed. He looks confident and assured on the ball. But the real standout surely has to be Lee Jeffrey. He had a blinding second half alongside Richard Kellow and Steve Floyd-Norris against Launceston.
2:55pm
And a special mention has to go to Ross Pope, who makes his 250th appearance for Falmouth Town today. He starts in what looks on paper to be a strong Town midfield.
2:47pm
Pat Shaughnessy emerges from the dressing room wearing what can only be described as a romper suit. I've seen Truro's players wearing these things. A kind of footballing onesie. What's wrong with a tracksuit top, I ask you?
2:45pm
Bodmin Town, of course, have that massive FA Vase fifth round tie at Priory Park against Gornal. They're yet to kick off.
Over in St Ives, Helston Athletic are playing in the quarter final of the Cornwall Charity Cup. It's half time there, and the home side are a goal up.
2:44pm
Send your tweets to @packetsport, and add your comments as you see fit. I'll try and keep you up to date with everything else that's happening in this afternoon's games.
2:42pm
Makes a change from having to wear waders and a dozen layers.
2:41pm
So we're 20 minutes from kickoff here at Bickland. Both sides still out warming up. In fact, the temperature's worth a mention in itself. A positively tropical 10c.
2:38pm
Really good too see ex Penryn lad @rob_wearne starting his first game back from his horror skull injury for fal town welcome back mate
— @PenrynAthletic 09 February 2013
2:37pm
So what to say about the Bickland Park pitch today? Well, there's more green than brown, so I suppose that's a good start. But it looks heavy. According to Liverton, that suits them. Not quite sure how that works, but there you go.
2:31pm
OK, make that a minute or two. Here's the Liverton starting eleven:
Hardie; Clark, O'Callaghan, Laughton, Fenner; Booth, Kingscote, Rudge, Chamberlain; Bowker, Jordan
2:28pm
Which will be in around thirty seconds...
2:27pm
I'll bring you news of the Liverton lineup as soon as I have it.
2:22pm
Liverton are the SWPL's in-form side. They've scored 19 goals in their last five games, and conceded only one. In contrast, Town have struggled for goals of late. Les Gilbert and Robbie Stephens are still searching for that elusive first win in charge.
2:18pm
Here's the Falmouth starting lineup in full.
Chapman (c); Winnan, Kellow, Floyd-Norris, Webb; Jeffries, Richardson, Pope, Whipp; Shaughnessy, Wearne. Subs: Turner, Friend, Rawlings
2:15pm
No Glenn Squires today for Falmouth. The striker's wife is unwell. Here's wishing her a speedy recovery.
2:15pm
Today's big news is that Rob Wearne starts for Falmouth. The young striker is fully recovered from that horrific head injury suffered against Elburton Villa last year. Apparently Wearne will wear some sort of face protector.
2:12pm
Right we are. Four minutes earlier than advertised. How's that for efficiency!
