This coming Sunday the Cornish Pirates are at home once more, when eighth-placed London Scottish visit for another important RFU Championship game (ko 2.30pm).

The famous 'exiles' club will arrive at the Mennaye Field in good form, as a glance at their last four Championship results confirm, three of which were against the top sides in the league.

They lost just 12-9 away to Newcastle Falcons, earning a deserved bonus point in the process, and have since won at home 26-23 against Bedford Blues, won 14-9 at Doncaster Knights, and emerged 25-13 victors versus Nottingham.

The win against the Green and Whites last weekend was particularly impressive, as for a spell during the second half they played with just 13 men.

As for the fourth-placed Pirates, they too have shown fine form in the Championship by going four games unbeaten. They won 11-10 at home to Nottingham at the start of December, then won 9-5 away to Plymouth Albion on Boxing Day.

The New Year opened with an excellent 32-17 result against Bristol, and playing at the 'Mennaye' again last weekend they emerged 31-18 points winners against Doncaster Knights.

For Sunday there are a number of changes made by the Cornish Pirates following their result against the Knights. Hooker Rob Elloway returns to the starting line-up for what will be his 151st appearance for the club, Ben Prescott continues at tight-head prop having replaced an injured Alan Paver early in the match last weekend, and in the second-row David Lyons is named to partner Darren Barry.

Flanker Kyle Marriott will captain the side as Tom Kessell replaces club skipper Gavin Cattle at scrum-half.
