FALMOUTH TOWN 0
BOVEY TRACEY 2
Roe, Chapman (OG)
In form Bovey Tracey denied Falmouth Town back to back wins with a 2-0 victory at Bickland Park, despite having a player sent off.
Kai Fisher's second half dismissal for two bookable offences when Falmouth were trailing looked to have handed Town a lifeline, but despite enjoying more possession the home side were unable to make it count.
And Jason Chapman's own goal with five minutes remaining sealed the victory for Bovey, who have won their last three games.
After a bright start from both sides Hayden Roe opened the scoring for the visitors in the 9th minute, heading in at the back post following a free kick wide on the right.
It was yet another goal conceded by Town from a set piece, spoiling an otherwise solid defensive performance.
Falmouth came back into the game, forcing Bovey back into their own half.
Rob Wearne saw his stabbed effort from just inside the six yard box clawed off the line by ex-Truro city goalkeeper Tom Brooks.
But aside from his shot, Town failed to create much in the way of chances, and the visitors always looked dangerous on the break.
The second half continued in much the same vein, with Falmouth playing the better football and enjoying the lion's share of possession without ever really troubling Bovey.
Tom Whipp saw his volley cannon back off the crossbar, while Dan Richardson's close range effort forced a superb one-handed save from Brooks.
When Fisher was shown his second yellow of the afternoon with fifteen minutes remaining hopes were high that Falmouth could salvage something from the game.
But a rare foray into the Town half ended in a corner for the visitors, and Jamie Micklewright's subsequent delivery into the box was palmed into his own net by Town captain Jason Chapman, sealing the win for Ryan Germans' side.
