Mark Goldsworthy scored a brace for Helston against Tavistock on Wednesday night
Helston Athletic will face Darren Gilbert's Bodmin Town in the semi-finals of the Throgmorton Cup after dumping out premier division high flyers Tavistock on Wednesday night.
The Blues ran out 3-1 winners at Langsford Park to set up a tie with current holders Bodmin, who went a goal down before coming back to beat Saltash United 2-1 at Priory Park.
Tavistock keeper Andy Meads' own goal and Mark Goldsworthy's early strike soon after saw the Blues race into an early 2-0 lead, before Ian Holmes' penalty in the 59th minute gave the home side a glimmer of hope.
But Goldsworthy fired in his 40th goal of the season to put the game beyond Tavistock and secure a spot in the last four for in-form Helston.
Cup ties are coming thick and fast for Taylor's Blues, who face Glynn Hooper's Newquay on Tuesday night in the semi final of the Cornwall Senior Cup at Treyew Road. Kick off is at 7.30pm.
