An much improved Falmouth Town display saw Les Gilbert and Robbie Stephens' side narrowly beaten by title contenders Plymouth Parkway at Bolitho Park on Saturday.
Defeat means Falmouth remain in 16th spot in the league, four points above 17th placed Cullompton Rangers, who were beaten 2-1 at home by Glynn Hooper's Newquay.
Meanwhile in division one west, Penryn Athletic put the disappointment of Senior Cup defeat at the hands of Bodmin behind them by scrapping their way to a 1-0 victory away at Perranporth.
Penryn remain in fourth spot, two points clear of Sticker, but well behind Wadebridge in third place.
But it was a less successful afternoon for Dennis Annear's young Porthleven side, who were beaten 4-2 by a resurgent St Dennis at Gala Parc.
