Falmouth sailor Sam Goodchild Falmouth sailor Sam Goodchild

Falmouth sailor Sam Goodhchild is quickly making a name for himself in the world of sailing.

At just 23 years-old, he has his own company Sam Goodchild Racing and he's already a veteran of the Southern Ocean having taken part in - and won - the Global Ocean Race last year.

He's also competed in the Solitaire du Figaro and the Normandy Channel Race as he works towards his goal of making the starting line of the prestigious Vendee Globe solo around-the-world race in 2016 - seen as the ultimate challenge for any sailor.

Sam spoke to us aboard his boat Vasco de Gama in the marina at Port Pendennis, just hours before setting sail for Britttany in France where he studies at the world-renowned Pôle Finistère centre of excellence for offshore racing.
