  • Then later, holders Bodmin Town take on division one west Helston in the Cornwall FA Senior Cup.

7:02am

5:05pm

Nothing between the two sides at the moment as Tom russell's tackled inside the box by chambers. Superb tackle by the bodmin man, and it needed to be - Russell only had Miller to beat.

5:03pm

Brokenshire tackled by Adlard. Free kick just inside Helston's half cleared by Davies.

5:00pm

Carter twists and turn inside the box but scuffs his shot wide with Luxton in a decent position.

5:00pm

Carter twists and turn inside the box but scuffs his shot wide with Luxton in a decent position.

4:59pm

Entertaining game so far. Both sides looking to play positive football.

4:58pm

Tom Russell has a half chance, but Bodmin nick the ball off his feet inside the box.

4:55pm

Bit quieter at the moment. Howlett goes in hard on Doel, but it's fair says the ref as Doel complains.

4:49pm

Eddy cuts inside his marker and has a go at goal. the ball spins out to Strike, whose first-time shto goes wide. Promising stuff from Helston.

4:47pm

Dodgy decision against goldsowrthy. He's called offside when he looks level - if not behind - his marker.

4:44pm

Rundle wins a corner for bodmin.

4:43pm

Great start by Helston after that early scare when Carter should have scored.

4:41pm

CLOSE: Miller makes a great save for Bodmin from Liam Eddy. Great chance for Helston as bodmin scarmble it clear!

4:39pm

Bodmin playing the ball around nicely at the moment. chris Strike makes a good clearance for Helston, before colwell has a tame shot easily saved.

4:35pm

Strike does well to clear a high ball into the Helston box. Decent start from both sides, but a ball over the top needs to be cut out by Jason Robertson.

4:32pm

Luxton hits the crossbar, the ball drops out to Carter who blazes over! Close for Bodmin!

4:30pm

thomson goes close for Helston. Good start for the Blues.

4:28pm

Helston shooting fro right to left. and we're off!

4:28pm

coin toss. Hugh Howlett wearing the captains armband for Helston. Tom Chambers for Bodmin.

4:27pm

I'm not even sure how to spell vuvuzela, but we've got one.

4:26pm

We have a vuvuzela. I repeat, we have a vuvuzela.

4:26pm

Second from kick off now. Teams lining up for photographs.

4:25pm

So Darren Gilbert named on the bench for Bodmin.

4:24pm

Cheers going up with each Helston name read out.

4:23pm

And the sun's out here at the Kimberley Stadium.

4:23pm

Teams lining up with an enormous purple Respect banner. Helston in blue, Bodmin in yellow.

4:22pm

But so do premier division champions and current Senior Cup holders Bodmin. This will be some result if the Blues can pull off an upset and win here. It's 90 minutes. Anything can happen.

4:21pm

Strike's experience could prove valuable here. And let's face it, Helston have quality throughout their side.

4:19pm

Surprises in the team selection? Perhaps Chris Strike's inclusion over Dan Stidwell, but aside from that it's just about what we expected.

4:18pm

So we're minutes away from the biggest game in Helston's history.

4:17pm

SUBS: Collick, A Stidwell, D Stidwell, Fox, Miller

4:14pm

HELSTON: Jason Robertson, Ben Stidwell, Chris Strike, Jamie Thomson (c), Kirk Davies, Hugh Howlett, Jordan Adlard, Charlie Young, Liam Eddy, Mark Goldsworthy, Tom Rusell.

4:14pm

HELSTON: Jason Robertson, Ben Stidwell, Chris Strike, Jamie Thomson (c), Kirk Davies, Hugh Howlett, Jordan Adlard, Charlie Young, Liam Eddy, Mark Goldsworthy, Tom Rusell.

4:05pm

As you can probably gather, we have the Bodmin team in. It's a strong lineup for Darren Gilbert's side. both teams out warming up. I don't think there's any chance anyone will warm up in this weather. Just been out on the pitch to speak to Illogan manager Nick Ward and I'm lucky to be back with all digits intact.

4:03pm

BODMIN: Kevin Miller, Lewis Reed, Luke Rundle, Tom Chambers, Huw Morgan, Craig Swiggs, Steve Colwell, Ollie Brokenshire, Adam Carter, Chris Luxton, Lee Doel

3:58pm

So Illogan beaten by St Austell in controversial circumstances. Those sendings off. That late goal. Plenty of talking points.

3:58pm

Illogan manager Nick Ward: "We're massively disappointed at the moment with that. I thought once we got one back we'd kick on from there but we didn't. MAssively disappointed."

3:50pm

David Thomas was sent off for two bookeable challenges for Illogan, and then right at the death Ryan Treloar brought down Douglas on the egde of the box and from the free kcik the ball dropped to him in the box and he made no mistake from six yards out.

3:48pm

It was scrappy, it was poor, but St Austell don't care, they're the 2013 Junior Cup winners. Hutchings opened the scoring for St Austell from the spot after Douglas was brought down in the box.

Then after the break Illogan hit back thanks to Cullingham's equaliser.

3:46pm

Hutchings fired the free kick in, it deflected off the wall and dropped to Douglas in the box. He turned and fired in under Carter. Heartbreak for Illogan.

3:45pm

Ben Douglas score the winner with almost the last kcik of the game after Ryan Treloar's sending off resulted in a free kick on the edge of the box.

3:44pm

GAME OVER! ST AUSTELL WIN THE JUNIOR CUP

3:41pm

GOAL! St Austell!

3:40pm

Treloar off for Illogan. they're down to 9 men!

3:39pm

Astonishing scenes. Carter looks to have claimed the ball at the feet of Douglas, but it's spilled and Douglas stabbs a shot at goal that comes off the inside of the post. Patton's racing in but it's saved by Carter.

3:32pm

Joe curnow bellowing at a St Austell player for having the temerity to be injured.

3:31pm

Looks like a coach load of fans pulling into the car park. Helston's perhaps?

3:30pm

St Austell need to make this numerical advantage count. If they let Illogan off fgrom this position they'll be kicking themselves. A replay on the cards at the moment.

3:28pm

Ben Douglas booked for throwing himself to the floor after the slightest of touches from Illogan keeper Shaun Carter.

3:26pm

David thomas sent off for Illogan after a clumsy challenge. It's been coming. He's been riding his luck for a while.

3:25pm

Truro one up at Treyew Road thanks to Andy Watkins.

3:24pm

Neither side really look like they want this, there's no hunger, no desire. I've said it before and I'll say it again: it's all gone a bit flat.

3:22pm

Yello card for David thomas for a foul on Phil Hutchings.

3:20pm

ryan trloar's long shot almost hits the corner flag. Pace has dropped off as legs perhaps begin to tire.

3:17pm

It's all gone a bit flat. Passes going astray, speculative shots from distance. Poor.

3:16pm

Cullignham offside after a through ball finds him clear in the box. Carter close behind might have been onside had he left it.

3:15pm

Decent spell from St Austell. Hutchings in acres of space but the cross is poor and it's cleared.

3:11pm

Game's come to life here in Saltash. Cullingham goes close again with a shot fro mthe edge of the box, but it's wide. good opportunity for Illogan.

3:07pm

GOAL: Pitt stabs in from a yard out after Cullingham's shot cannons down of the underside of the bar 1-1!

3:00pm

Lake tips over a Carter cross that looks to be heading in, the Cullingham hits a superb volley that Hutchings glances over wiwth his head. Great start to the second half by Illogan.

2:58pm

Second half underway here in Saltash. Illogan trailing 1-0.

2:50pm

James Miller decked out in a particular natty suit. Helston boys wearing ties and team tracksuits. Big day for the Blues.

2:44pm

HALF TIME: Poor half. St Austell took their one and only chance. Illogan have had the better of the last 20 minutes, but they've failed to test Anton Lake in the St Austell goal.

It's all a bit...well, all over the place to be honest.

2:42pm

Illogan looking dangerous going forward, but no end product as of yet. Lake not really been tested in goal for St Austell.

2:40pm

Anton Lake almost spills the ball between his legs from a failry innocuous cross. The St Austell stopper doesn't look comfortable at the moment.

2:37pm

Helston have arrived. They make their way into the changing rooms.

2:35pm

Nick Bennetts off for St Austell. Ross Sundercombe replaces him.

2:34pm

Kitson fires over after the ball bounces free from the free kick. Great chance for St Austell. Should have been 2-0!

2:32pm

Treloar clips the ankles of Jeremy Pascoe. Free kick for St Austell from 25 yards out. Decent opportunity. Yellow card for Treloar.

2:30pm

Treloar with a second long range effort that flies miles wide. More composure needed for Illogan. They're on the up at the moment.

2:29pm

Much better from Illogan. Luke Abbott-Smith doing well down the wings, causing St Austell trouble.

2:26pm

Anton LKake flaps at another corner after Luke Abbott-smith's run down the left wing. Better from Illogan but St austell still leading thanks to Hutchins early penalty.

2:24pm

Free kick to St Austell 40 yards out.

2:22pm

25 minutes in. Illogan leading by a goal to nil.

2:20pm

This is poor to be honest. Hit and hope football from both sides. Passes failing to find feet.

2:17pm

Illogan trying to compose themselves after that opening goal. St Austell brimming with confidence, but passes going astray from both sides.

2:10pm

Smashed into the corner after douglas was sent sprawling in the box. St Austell leading 1-0!

2:09pm

Hutchins scores!

2:09pm

2:04pm

2:03pm

Illogan with another throw deep in the St Austell half.

2:02pm

Illogan have made the better start. A couple of ball into the box nervily cleared by St Austell

1:58pm

Neil Ham goes down under a heavy challenge early on. Just winded. He's up and fine to carry on.

1:57pm

And we're off.

1:56pm

Illogan shooting from left to right. Moments from kick off.

1:52pm

1:46pm

ILLOGAN RBL: (some confusion over the teams at the moment. The team sheet appears to have nine names on it).

1:45pm

SUBS: Ross Sundercombe, Alex Griffith Hughes, Steve Kellow, Dan Tree

1:44pm

ST AUSTELL: Anton Lake, Luke Patton, Pete Davey, Geoff Dillon, Phil Dingle, Dave Kitson, Neil Ham, Jeremy Pascoe, Nick Bennetts, Ben Douglas

1:39pm

Team news just in:

1:31pm

Junior Cup assistant ref is Porthleven's very own Derek Fox.

1:30pm

Today's Senior Cup referee is Martin Ault from Lanner. The Junior Cup ref this afternoon is Ian Spurling who's not had to come far: he's from Saltash.

1:29pm

So we're not far off kickoff here at the Kimberley Stadium. Just under half an hour to go. Illogan youth players in their matching tracksuits preparing to take a 'Respect' banner out on to the pitch as the stand begins to fill.

1:26pm

I was hoping to bring you pictures of the build up, but despite being surrounded by mobile phone masts I can't get a 3G signal. Hopefully that'll change at some point over the course of the afternoon.

1:22pm

Fans beginning to line the banks behind the goal to my right.

1:21pm

First few Helston fans filtering in.

1:18pm

Both sides going well in the league too.

1:07pm

It's the second consecutive year Illogan have made the final. Last year they lost against Saltash. They'll be keen to put that right today on the Ashes' home ground.

1:04pm

Unless it's a draw. In which case it doesn't, but we won't talk about that. No one wants a replay - there's no bigger anti-climax than a cup final replay.

1:02pm

St Austell have scrapped thier way past St Mary, Pelynt, Fowey, St Minver, Torpoint Athletic and Bude Town. It's a real marathon for these two sides, but it all ends here in Saltash.

1:01pm

Illogan have beaten Redruth Athletic, Ruan Minor, St Day, Redruth United (aet), St Buryan and Lizard Argyle on their way to the Kimberley Stadium.

1:00pm

You could argue it's a more difficult compeitition to win given the number of rounds teams need to come through to get here - although I'm sure Helston and Bodmin would disagree

12:59pm

So what about this Junior Cup final then?

12:55pm

The seemingly obligatory medley of Kings of Leon tracks belting out over the PA. I hope the football's better than the choice of music.

12:53pm

Seems sensible to me.

12:51pm

A spectator asks a Cornwall FA official "are you doing the presentation for the Junior Cup after the Junior Cup."

To which she replies: "Well...yes."

12:49pm

Which is good to know.

12:48pm

According to Twitter Helston are en route to Saltash.

12:47pm

St Austell players out inspecting the pitch, which it has to be said looks in excellent nick. Like a carpet, as they say. Clubhouse is already packed with people from all four teams watching the Chelsea v Man Utd game.

12:25pm

Illogan are the first team to arrive as an icy blast of wind gusts around the Kimberley Stadium.

12:13pm

Just been handed a very welcome cup of tea by the lovely people here at Saltash. Respect banners going up around the pitch, and still no 3G signal. It's a conspiracy I tell you!

12:04pm

Helston midfielder @CharlesYoung23 tweeted that he and his teammates were off for breakfast this morning. So the first burning question of the day is: full English, or toast and orange juice? We demand to know.

11:58am

Afternoon...just about. It's just gone midday and I'm already in place at a cold, windy and overcast Kimberley Park.

First gripe of the day: despite there being three mobile phone antennas within sight, I can't seem to get a 3G signal. How is that even possible?
