Helston Athletic were made to settle for a 0-0 draw in Easter Monday's Cornwall Senior Cup final against Premier Division champions Bodmin at Saltash.

Despite looking the better side throughout the match, the Blues were unable to break down holders Bodmin at Kimberly Park.

In an entertaining game, it was Helston who made the brighter start with Jamie Thomson going close to opening the scoring within the first two minutes, before Chris Luxton hit the crossbar and Adam Carter blazed over for Bodmin.

Liam Eddy should have put Helston ahead on 15 minutes but his shot was scrambled away by the Bodmin defence, before Mark Goldsworthy was harshly deemed offside when well placed before the break.

In the second half Helston manager Sid Taylor was sent from the dugout by referee Martin Ault, after reacting to a tight offside decision, and despite having the better chances against a below par Bodmin, the Blues could not find a way through.

The final will now be replayed on Tuesday, April 16 with time and venue yet to be decided.
