Four young footballers from Penryn College will represent West Cornwall U13s boys' team in the final of the English Schools Football Association's Inter Association Trophy against Liverpool next week.

Finn Cross, Finn Robinson, Luke Jephcott and Joel Allen are all in the squad to play the current champions at Hereford United's Edgar Street ground on Wednesday.

In reaching the final the boys have already made Cornish football history, battling their way through seven rounds of competition which included a stunning 2-0 victory over Midlanders Aston, Erdington & Saltley at Porthleven's Gala Parc last month.

Manager Kevin Lawrence said: "It will be great to have support at the game as the boys embark on Cornish football history, and hopefully get the result they wish for.

"Either way, they are winners in my eyes!"

Tickets for the game cost just £4 for adults and £2 for students. Kick off is at 4pm.
