Helston remain unbeaten after two games in division one west following a hard fought 2-1 victory at Kellaway Parc against Penzance.
John Dent's side, relegated from the premier division last season, are expected to challenge for promotion and showed good form during a pre-season which saw them lift the Dave Gardner Memorial Trophy.
But following their opening day thrashing of Helston, Taylor's side were brimming with confidence. Mark Goldsworthy put the Blues ahead, before Penzance pulled a goal back.
And Helston captain Jamie Thomson was on hand to makes sure of the points for Sid Taylor's side with a second goal for Helston.
Victory puts Helston joint top with Dobwalls and Sticker. The Blues visit Foxhole Stars on Saturday afternoon.
