Pirates prepare for tricky trip to Ealing
Ready to venture to Vallis Way, Ealing, this Saturday, the Cornish Pirates are very much aware that their hosts will pose a threat.
This first meeting between the two sides will also be a first home game for Ealing Trailfinders in the Greene King IPA Championship and, having lost 44-13 to London Scottish in their double header and then 79-9 at Rotherham last weekend, they'll be extra determined to strive for a win.
The Cornish Pirates, after putting in an impressive performance to win their double header 23-21 against Bristol, were disappointed to follow this up with a 27-20 points loss at home to Leeds Carnegie, so they too have added natural incentive to avoid defeat at Vallis Way.
There are a number of enforced changes this weekend because of injury. Club skipper Gavin Cattle misses out, as do hooker Rob Elloway, flanker Alex Cheesman and prop Max Maidment who this week had a scan on his injured knee.
Chris Morgan will captain the side and centre Junior Fatialofa will make his first Championship appearance of the season.
The Cornish Pirates full selection is as follows:-
Cornish Pirates: 15 Craig Holland, 14 James Tincknell, 13 Tom Riley, 12 Junior Fatialofa, 11 Kieran Goss, 10 Kieran Hallett, 9 Tom Kessell, 1 Jack Andrew, 2 Aaron Carpenter, 3 Alan Paver, 4 James Sandford, 5 Gary Johnson, 6 Jake Parker, 7 Chris Morgan (capt), 8 Laurie McGlone
Replacements: 16 Tom Channon, 17 Ben Prescott, 18 Darren Barry, 19 Matt Bolwell, 20 Mike Pope, 21 Angus Sinclair, 22 Rheon James.
