A number of Falmouth Eagles players said after last weekend's defeat against Hayle that it was only a matter of time before their side gave someone in the league a serious thrashing: it seems newcomers Veor were the unlucky recpients.
Falmouth ran out easy winners by a massive 62 points to 17 - a perfect response to last week's 21-15 reversal at home where missed chances and missed kicks were their undoing.
The result takes the Eagles up to fifth in the Cornwall and Devon league, three points behind Honiton, who beat Saltash 13-22 away from home.
Elsewhere in the league Hayle swept Withycombe aside by 55 points to 12, and Pirates Amateurs slumped to a 6-37 reversal at home to Tiverton.
But surprisingly, the day's big winners weren't Falmouth. That honour goes to Crediton, who hammered Newquay Hornets by a whopping 82 points to nil away from home to keep them in the hunt at the top of the table.
Full Cornwall and Devon league results were as follows:
Exeter University 43 - 7 Exeter Saracens
Hayle 55 - 12 Withycombe
Newquay Hornets 0 - 82 Crediton
Pirates Amateurs 6 - 37 Tiverton
Saltash 13 - 22 Honiton
Veor 17 - 62 Falmouth
