Falmouth 6 Okehampton 2

Falmouth were back to full strength this week for their top of the table clash with Okehampton at Penryn.

They started on the front foot and attacked hard, controlling much of the first half.

A string of short corners failed to produce a goal but some fine attacking play eventually saw Falmouth take the lead.

An Okehampton foot on the line prevented a second goal and the resultant penalty flick was saved, making it 1-0 at half time.

After the break Falmouth attacked with vigour and produced a display worthy of their top of the league position.

Four goals in 10 minutes all but sealed the game for the hosts; Sam Dunstan completing her second home hat trick and Annie Hockey-Smith converting a great solo effort for her first goal for the club.

Okehampton managed to grab two consolation goals but were out-played from start to finish.
A great team goal sealed the sixth for Falmouth and another three points.

Player of the match this week: Emily Dunstan.

Falmouth are now 6 points clear at the top and on Saturday face Caradon seconds at Penryn College at 10.30am in the first round of the county cup.

Plymouth University II 7 Falmouth II 2

Falmouth seconds faced a really well drilled Plymouth University side and with 3 new players in a mostly young team put in a very creditable performance.

The home side were 4-0 up at half time, as they made the Falmouth defence work very hard.

A slight team rearrangement at half time led to much tighter marking by Falmouth in the 2nd half although Plymouth University won by a convincing 7-1 score line.

Player of the match was Emily Gusterson who also scored the consolation goal from an Emma Bragg cross.

On Saturday the 2's have a friendly match against CSM 2 at Penryn College at 12.00noon
