Penryn bounced back from a sequence of disappointing results with a comfortable victory over Wellington away from home on Saturday.

Paul Trevaskis's side were in control right from the whistle, opening the scoring with a converted try from Colin Campbell inside three minutes, and adding to their tally with a penalty from Rob Banks to take a 10-3 lead in at the break.

Dan Booth went over early in the second half to see Penryn pull well clear of the home side, and Banks sealed the deal by converting his try and kicking a further three penalties.

Wellington hit their straps in the final 15 minutes as Penryn eased up, Mark Nichols scoring their only try late on.

But it was Penryn's day, and victory sees them maintain fifth place in Western Counties West, two point clear of fierce rivals Truro who were beaten 20-10 by league leaders Burnham-on-Seaon the road.
