Falmouth Town have completed the signing of striker Kayne Trevaskis from Penryn Athletic.

Trevaskis, who was heavily linked with a move to Bickland Park last week, was in the crowd on Saturday to see Town draw 1-1 with high-flying Exmouth at home.

He was widely expected to sign that evening, but delayed his decision until early this week, leading to specualtion that the move was off.

But the player finally made his mind up to leave Penryn on Monday, and subsequently put pen to paper on Wednesday evening.

The move comes as no surprise after Town manager John Dent expressed his admiration for Trevaskis in an interview with the Packet a fortnight ago.

“I'm a big fan of Kayne and always have been,” he said. “I just feel he’s one of those players who’ll score goals in any side you put him in.”

Town have certainly found goals hard to come by this season, managing to find the back of the net just 17 times so far.

In contrast Trevaskis has already scored 12 goals for Penryn in division one west, helping them to third place in the table.

His arrival provides Dent with options up front - a situation the Falmouth boss has not encountered since taking on the job.

Andy Westgarth has become used to playing as the lone striker for Town in recent weeks, but could now line up alongside Trevaskis when Witheridge visit Bickland Park on November 30.
