Falmouth Town 4 Elmore 4

Falmouth Town salvaged a dramatic point against Elmore thanks to Harry Evans's late equaliser as the two relegation-threatened sides played out an eight goal thriller at Bickland Park.

Evans's 88th minute leveller, struck from the byline on the right, drifted over Elmore keeper Joe Moore's head and in to the back of the net, sparking wild celebrations on the pitch.

It was the perfect way to end a memorable week for the youngster, who earned his first international cap when he represented England Colleges against Australia in Sutton Coldfield on Monday.

And a point was no less than Falmouth deserved after dominating the second half, but it was Elmore who had the better of the first 45 minutes, taking a 2-1 lead in at the break.

Evans put Falmouth into the lead in the 13th minute from a corner, delivering a deep cross which seemed to catch the wind before drifting into the back of the net.

Elmore equalised thanks to a superb left-footed strike from the edge of the box by Brett Worbey, which beat stand-in keeper Richard Kellow at his near post.

And the Devon club went two up soon after when Tom Tricker beat the offside trap before racing into the box and thumping a low drive in to the bottom corner.

Falmouth missed a slew of goal scoring opportunities in the run up to half time, but after the restart it was Elmore who pulled further ahead when Danny Tapp scrambled the ball over the line following a corner.

Despite going further behind Town were beginning to dominate, and after a spell of pressure Gary Bell put them back in the game with a sweetly struck effort from 25 yards which flew into the roof of the net.

Falmouth poured forward looking for an equaliser, but chances went begging with the clock ticking down.

Until finally Andy Westgarth, on as a second half sub, pulled them level in the 77th minute when he volleyed in at the back post following a deflected cross.

Elmore were rattled and Falmouth seemed the more likely side to score a winner, but disaster struck in the 82nd minute when Richard Kellow spilled the ball into the path of Tricker, and the Elmore forward tapped in to an empty net.

It looked like game over for Town, but Dent's side dug in, and Evans capped a man-of-the-match performance and a big week with the equaliser two minutes from time.
