THIS picture of Falmouth Town Football Club will surely bring memories flooding back for older supporters of the club who might recognise that this picture was taken in the 1957-58 season when Town won the South Western League Cup after beating Newquay 1-0 in the final.

The goalkeeper is Rex Manhire who can still be seen regularly at matches at Redruth Cricket Club, and to the left is defender Norman Morrison. When a player was tackled by Norman, allegedly, they stay tacked.

Reggie Hurdon, far left in the front row, was a speedy winger and sitting beside him is Mike Andrew, a talented inside forward who, apparently, has returned to the district to live.

The picture was taken at Bickland Park, in its first season following the move from Union Corner.

The only player missing from the line-up is Des Wengradt. The irrepressible character was unfortunately sent off in the final and had returned to Plymouth to work when the picture was taken.

The full line-up is (back row, left to right): Norman Morrison, Rex Manhire, John Barnes, Bill Adams, Cedric Martin, Russell Webber. Front: Reggie Hurdon, Mike Andrew, Harold Rickard, Godfrey Morgan, and Trevor Thomas.
