Falmouth Golf Club meets Merlin Golf Club for a place in the final of the prestigious Cornwall Golf Union Presidents cup semi-final this Sunday at Carlyon Bay (weather permitting), writes Keith Rashleigh.
The format is nine singles matches with three players selected from handicap categories 1 to 3.
Falmouth`s Captain Lucien Trathen (pictured) has announced the team: George Popperwell, Scott Pedlar and Paul Evans from category 3. Crispen Merritt, Ben Browning and Neil Dickinson category 2. Tristan Gurd, Nick Chinn and Paul Collins category 1.
The first match tees off at 8.51am.
Falmouth overcame a strong Carlyon Bay team in a close encounter by 5 matches to 4 to reach this stage and Merlin defeated Lostwithiel by 6.5 to 2.5 in their quarter final.
The other semi final is between Bowood and China Fleet.
