St Austell 1 Bodmin Town 1 (St Austell win 5-3 on penalties)

St Austell have won the Cornwall Senior Cup after a 5-3 penalty shootout victory over holders Bodmin Town at Bodieve Park in Wadebridge.

Lee Doel opened the scoring for Bodmin on 34 minutes, but St Austell hit back with an equaliser from Jordan Dingle six minutes later.

And with nothing to separate the two teams at the whistle the game went straight to penalties - a change to the rules introduced this year.

Johnny Ludlam stepepd up to take Bodmin's first, but former Falmouth Town keeper Jason Chapman kept his effort out.

Chris Reski, Ben Williams, Lee Whetter and Carl Rickard all held their nerve for St Austell to put the Lilywhites firmly in control.

Meanwhile Seb Broomfield, Jimmy Alexander, and golakeeper Kevin Miller were all on target for Bodmin, setting up a tense finale.

It was left to former St Austell manager Dan Nancarrow, on as a second half sub, to seal the win for Phil Lafferty's side with the decisive fifth penalty.

The result brings to an end Bodmin's four-year domination of the competition, and denied Darren Gilbert's side a record fifth cup title on the trot.
