Falmouth ladies retain title for fifth year at World Pilot Gig Championships
Falmouth Gig Club's ladies' team has retained its crown for the fifth consecutive year at the World Pilot Gig Championships, with the mens' crew also taking the top spot.
The Falmouth ladies' super-veterans also powered across the line in first place.
The championships taking place on the Isles of Scilly feature some of the best gig rowing crews from around the world.
Falmouth's ladies team has not been beaten there since 2009 and they did not disappoint their fans once again.
Coming second behind them was the local team from St Mary's with Roseland in third place.
