THE Under-12s football season came to a close on May 4 at Helston AFC, with two finals being played as well as winners’ medals being handed out.

Helston Rangers were the overall winners of the Under-12 League, the first time they have achieved the award.

Neil Reid, manager of Helston Rangers, said: “I’m so proud of what the team have done. They have been fantastic all season.”

Although the league had finished, there were still two cup games to be played, Culdrose taking on Perranwell for the League Cup, and St Day against Illogan for the Championship Cup.

The two good games were eventually won by Culdrose Cyclones and St Day Miners. Players of the match were Oliver Classey for Culdrose, and Bethany Prouse for St Day, who both picked up individual awards.

Also picking up an award were the Helston Tigers, the Under-10 team, who won their league.
