Camborne went down to their second Premier League defeat of the season with a 46 run loss to St Austell, at Roskear.

The visitors batted soundly to post 224-3 off their 55 overs. Taylor Williams and James Carter put on 72 for the first wicket in 27 overs before Williams was stumped for 31 by Liam Weeks off Dan Hocking.

Andrew Libby joined Carter to double the score before Libby became a second stumping victim, with Craig Johnson the bowler this time. Carter was lbw to Matt Rowe for 79 with the score at 156.

Callum Wilson (37no) and Matt Ellison (28no) added an unbroken 68 for the fourth wicket. Camborne lost Ryan Du Plessis with only five on the board.

Five of the Camborne top order got double figures led by Rowe with 28. Opener Nick King hit 25, Liam King and Sam Pooley 16 apiece and David Trestrail 26.

Wickets fell steadily however with the last pair of Hocking and Johnson coming together with over five overs to survive. They put on 20 but Liam Watson won the game trapping Johnson lbw off the first ball of the penultimate over. Spinner Andrew Libby took five for 26 and Callum Wilson three for 45.

Truro are the next visitors to Roskear.
