FALMOUTH’S male gig rowing teams claimed victories in both the A and B team races at championship during the weekend.
Crews manning the boats picked up the titles during the Tribute Cornish Gig Championships held at Mevagissey on Saturday and Sunday.
The tournament is the largest outside of the World Championships held in May and both boats had to beat dozens of other teams to claim the crowns.
The club’s female crews could not repeat their male colleagues’ success as the races for the women’s A and B teams went to Roseland and Mounts Bay respectively.
Winners of the overall club title were Caradon.
