MULLION travelled to Wendron on Saturday, needing to return to winning form against an inform Wendron.

Skipper Martin Hearn, lost the toss for a sixth time in a row and Wendron elected to bat. Charlie Hearn and Mike Cockings bowled good opening spells and Wendron were in trouble at 43 for three with Ash Carkeet and Charlie Hearn taking sharp chances.

Mark Mitchell and Ryan Mitchell then put on 62 for the fourth wicket and a good score was on the cards. Dan Johnson and Jack Casley came on first change, and both bowled well with Casley capturing the wickets of both Mark and Ryan Mitchell going for 62 and 27 respectively, the lower order struggled and Wendron were all out for 130 in the 42nd over.

For Mullion Mike Cocking took three for 25, Jack Casley three for 27, Dan Johnson two for 31 and Charlie Hearn two for 38.

Mullion started steadily with Martin Hearn (25) and Dave Brown (35) putting on 66 for the first wicket, Jim Pearson scored 20 before Jack Casley, under orders from his captain to bat sensibly, hit four boundaries in four balls and headed off the pitch with a smile on his face.

For Wendron, Ryan Mitchell and his brother Josh bowled the first twelve overs conceding only 21 runs with Ryan finishing with the impressive figures of two for 12 off 10 overs. Ryan Tresidder took a wicket with his first ball ending up with one for 13.

Mullion took 20 points, with Wendron taking five. Mullion are at home to Hayle this week.
