FIVE wickets from Perranarworthal bowler Gareth Best helped his side win their league clash with Leedstown by 56 runs.

He picked up the scalps while conceding a respectable 23 runs during a ten over spell which bowled the visitors out for 118 as they chased 174.

Despite the early loss of Brian Fisher Perranarworthal’s top order were all in the runs against Leedstown. Andrew Brotherton (26) and Ben Lewis (38) put on 56 for the second wicket.

Paul Howard made 20 before Ben Toulson (33) and Ashley Mugford (43no) added 67 for the fifth wicket. Mugford’s total was the highest by any of the home batsmen and featured six fours during the knock.
