FALMOUTH Cricket Club skipper Adrian Noott has said he is not looking further ahead than tonight’s Vinter Cup semi final.

The side go into the clash with Camborne, being played at Helston, as defending champions of the Twenty 20 competition with the winners due to face either St Just or Truro in the final on July 9.

Noott said he is excited and feeling confident going into the match.

But he feels his team still has to go into the tie with the right attitude.

“We have to be respectful,” he said.

“Camborne are a good side so I am very mindful that it will be a tough game.

“We have to keep our focus on this game and if we win, then think about retaining our title.”

He went onto say it would give him a great sense of pride if Falmouth were to retain the cup.

Noott said: “It is exciting to be involved in any cup semi final and it is good for team morale.

“When I first took over as captain we were struggling to reach this stage of competitions. “So to be making them now and winning them shows how far we have come.

“Last year was a very, very proud moment for all involved and if we can do it again I’m sure we’d all feel the same.”
