A GROUP consisting of Doncaster, Bedford and a team from Wales awaits the Cornish Pirates in the British and Irish Cup next season.

The Mennaye Field side have been drawn in Pool Four alongside their fellow Greene King IPA Championship sides plus another Welsh club who will be decided at a later date.

The first set of fixtures will take place on either October 10, 11 or 12 with the Pirates’ first opponents being Bedford at home.

They then meet Doncaster away before greeting their counterparts from Wales at Mennaye Field.

After the first three games, the second half of the fixtures sees the Pirates go to Wales before playing Doncaster at home and ending with a trip to the Blues.

This season’s final will take place on either April 3, 4 or 5.

In 2010 the Pirates won the trophy by beating Munster A 23-14 in the final. The reigning champions are Leinster A.
