A WOMEN’S day proved to be a big hit at Falmouth Golf Club with dozens taking part in competitions.
The club held the event sponsored by the March Hare Ladies Fashion as part of its annual golf week with the highlight of the day being a threesomes contest.
Winning the title in a tight affair were Debi Hall, Lynn Dickinson and Mo Hammond with a combined stableford score of 80, beating the team of Frankie Allsopp, Val Graham and Ann Nash by a single point.
Coming in third place were Jo Munday, Rachel Curnow and Lynn Innes with a score of 78 while the trio of Kathy Wells, Shirley Clark and Liz Plechocitz finished fourth with 77 points.
Prizes were also given out to the threesomes who had not already won a trophy with the best scores on the back and front nines of the course.
Brenda Arch, Wendy Plummer and Sarah Curnow won the front nine with 37 points while a score of 40 by Angela Cortis, Barbara Roker and Kath Kelly won the back nine.
