A NEW name has been added to a trophy played in memory of a founding member of Budock Vean Golf Club.
Jason Hocking won the Bill Rowe Memorial Cup at the course on Sunday after carding a net score of 64 beating Tony Ramsden who went round with a net score of 65 and Keith Whitbread, who scored 66.
The competition is named after Bill Rowe who helped establish the club in 1964.
During the week, the course hosted a ladies invitation day with players from other clubs competing in a greensomes contest.
Mo Salome and Sandra Phillips from St Austell won the tournament with a total of 45 points beating Sue Parsons and Ella Richards from Falmouth on countback while fellow Falmouth golfers Shirley Mildren and Angela Cortis came third.
The club also had its Captain’s Day organised by Dennis McQuillan with a stableford contest being won by Roger Mildren with his tally of 42 points while club president Brian Martin was runner-up with 41 with golfers enjoying bacon sandwiches, Bucks Fizz and other games on the enjoyable day.
