AN unbeaten century from Ben Tann helped Stithians to a 73 run win at the New Churchyard Field.

Opening the batting, none of the visiting bowlers could get him out as he made it to the end of the innings undefeated on 104 as the hosts scored 219-8.

His opening partner Harry Burley made 42 as the duo made a very solid start to the innings for their side. Tom Rodwell with 31 was the only other player in double figures.

For Helston’s bowling attack, there were two wickets for Luke Clark who conceded just 21 runs off eight overs while Spider Kelly and David Retallack also grabbed a brace of Stithians wickets each. Peter Boyd and Matthew Crapp bagged the other wickets.

Steve Bury, Karl Leathley, Sam Rule and Greg Moore all passed the 20 mark in the Helston reply as they got to 146 when the overs ran out. Mike Rodwell and Adam Lockwood took two wickets.
