MIKE Hatch finished first in the second round of the Maurice Guy Club Championship at Praa Sands Golf Club.

He carded a score of 57 which put him ahead of Ken McIlroy by two shots with third going to Scott Willet who got 60.

Finishing in fourth spot was Roy Hillyar who carded a score of 60 before being given placing through count back Caroline Hardman won the Ladies’ Trerowton Bowl with her score of 62 bettering Judy Thomas’ by five while Linda Dunford came third with 67 as well but being pushed a place down on count back and fourth going to Diana Lyons with 68.

Simon Phillips picked up the Veterans’ Trophy winning on count back with a score of 61 over Alan Lawrence and David Phillips, with both players also scoring 61, while Robert Fox came fourth with 63.

The Seniors’ Monthly Medal was claimed by Harold Kliskey who carded 60 in another tight affair which also saw runner-up Matt Tregenza hit the same score only to lose out on count back. Third went to Hillyar with 61 and fourth to Robert Fox with 62.

Lily Hiscott won the Ladies’ Stableford competition played at the course.

She beat off the challenge from Judy Harris to claim the title. Ann Seabrook finished in third place.
