BOXERS from Falmouth and Penryn have been given a financial boost to the tune of £1,000 ahead of the 2014/15 season.

The donation was handed over by Penryn Treasures Charity Shop, based in Upper Market Street, to Falmouth and Penryn Boxing Club who train at the Dracena Centre.

This will be used by the club to replace worn out training equipment which will in turn provide a safer environment for members along with new competition gear.

Rachel Painter, from the shop, said: “We believe in investing in our local community and helping its people.

“We like to not just hand out cheques, but get involved on the ground and build relationships across our community.”

Training is held at the centre every Tuesday.
