FALMOUTH were unable to successfully defend their Vinter Cup title after losing in the final to St Just by 21 runs.

Batting first at Camborne, the current Cornwall County Cricket League Premier Division leaders put on 173-7 in their 20 overs with Neil Curnow top scoring with 44 while Harry Medhurst hit 42 runs.

The defending champion's best bowler in the innings was Guy Leathley who ended with figures of four for 26.

In reply, Falmouth lost Stefan Churcher early on for two before Anup Revandkar rebuilt the innings as he scored a half century, reaching 50 off 36 balls.

But after reaching 61, Revandkar was stumped by Daniel Mitchell off Medhurst's bowling with Falmouth on 105-3 in the 14th over.

Kieran Rodda also scored a half century, ending on 62 not out, but this was not enough to get his team over the line as they finished on 152-3.
