PENRYN College pupils took to the athletics field to participate in their annual sports day.
Alongside the standard races around the track, pupils played a wide range of sports including rugby, football, cricket and trampolining throughout the day.
An electric atmosphere greeted the afternoon session as the athletic disciplines began with students getting into the spirit of things be adorning face paint, flags and banners to support their house while music blared out over a PA system, which also prompted a mass Macarena.
On the track, there were some very tense races including two results having to be decided through photo finishes, while another event ended as a dead heat.
Fine performances were recorded by Chevonne Johanning, Izzy Berks and Jack Nancarrow who all won two events or more.
After the overall house lead changed hands on a number of occasions throughout the day, it was Pendennis who ended up as 2014 champions.
The cup was presented by Cornish Pirates players Jack Andrew and Rob Elloway.
The duo also handed out medals to all the day’s individual winners.
