SPORTING achievements of students at Helston Community College were celebrated last week as they held their annual Sports Award ceremony.
Prizes were handed out by the school’s PE department to pupils across all the year groups who have performed to a high standard over the last 12 months.
Winners on the night included rugby player Eleanor Harding who was given the Dr McGovern Award for her dedication to the sport, which has recently seen her taking a post at the Cornish Pirates within their community development team.
Another highlight of the evening saw Liam Tanner collect the Ian Rogers Cup, which is given to a student who staff believe have shown outstanding commitment to sport.
Tanner was given the trophy after making significant contributions in cricket, football, rugby and athletics.
