IT was another fine day at Falmouth Golf Club last Saturday as 102 members turned out for the Peoples Dispensary for Sick Animals Medal, writes Keith Rashleigh.

There was some good scoring and some not so good as interestingly 25 per cent of the field did not return a score.

Andy Kemp deservedly won with a splendid net score of 64 following a solid round where he carded birdies at the 12th and 13th holes. Andy almost eagled the 13th, had he given his approach an extra half roll on his way to an impressive level par back nine.

Runner up was Paul Kneebone who played well for his 66, including birdies at the 12th, 13th and 18th holes. Had it not been for a double bogey six at “The Plateau” 15th, the feature hole at Falmouth, he could well have been the winner.

Third also with 66 was Steve Mayle, who had birdies at the fourth and 15th holes. But an eight at the par five third hole left him just too much to do.

Laurie Magowan, Rob Brown and Mike Watmore also played well to card scores of 66. Richie Perrin returned an impressive one over par gross 73 to win the best gross prize.
