CORNWALL Women’s season keeps going from strength to strength.

On Sunday, they won the ECB T20 Division Four title at Amersham and promotion to Division Three.

They qualified after beating Dorset and Wiltshire twice in two days at Bournemouth a couple of weeks ago. In Sunday’s semi-final they overwhelmed Cumbria by 85 runs.

Sophie Mackenzie hit ten fours in her 77 and Nicole Richards, with 12, Emily Edgcombe, 13, and Charlotte Phillips, 11, all got double figures.

Cumbria were shot out for 46 in 12 overs. Richards and Emmie Blamey took two wickets each.

In the final they took on host county Buckinghamshire, who had beaten Norfolk in the morning semi-final.

Bucks made 93-5 with a wicket each for Richards, Edgcombe, Blamey and Ashley Bridges. Cornwall reached their target for the loss of four wickets in 18 overs. Mackenzie made 25, Rebecca Rowe 23, Richards 16 and Edgcombe 11.

The County Women still have a county championship play-off to look forward too. They are likely to play Suffolk, at Wokingham, with details to be announced.

The winner will be promoted to Division Three. Cornwall have won all ten of the ECB games this year.

Cornwall 131-5 (S Mackenzie 77), Cumbria 46 (11.5 overs) (E Blamey 2-1, N Richards 2-4). Cornwall beat Cumbria by 85 runs.

Final Buckinghamshire 94-5 (J Turner 29no), Cornwall 95-4 (18 overs) (S Mackenzie 25, R Rowe 23, N Richards 16). Cornwall beat Buckinghamshire by six wickets.
