SPECIAL Olympics Cornwall are hosting a multi-sport activity day at Helston Sports Centre on Saturday.

On offer during the event will be table tennis, boccia, badminton, swimming, bowls and football with doors open from 10.30am to 3pm.

Entry costs just £1.50 with the aim of the day being to build on the success the organisation has experienced with their monthly meetings at Truro College.

David Painter, chairman of Cornwall SO, said: “Our aim is to bring sport into the lives of those with a learning disability.

“It is brilliant to see how their lives can change through taking part and joining in the fun and competition that sport can offer.

“We are targeting the 2017 British Games when we hope Cornwall can have a large contingent of athletes from a variety of sports competing.”
