CORNISH players scored 21 of 23 goals during the England shinty team’s tour of Scotland.

The national side clocked up 4,000 miles on their trip north, which featured an appearance for an all-Cornwall side in the Natural Retreats Challenge Cup against Caithness, which the Duchy team won 2-1 at Bught Park, the sport’s most famous stadium in the world.

The tour also saw four teams enter the Inverness Sixes, which was won by the Beualy Broncos who defeated England 2-1 en-route to victory.

Players from the county dominated the awards handed out at the end of the trip with Camborne School of Mining star Luke Sparrow being named Player of the Tour.

Mabe’s Matt Mossop, who is England’s vice captain, was the top scorer with seven goals while Tamzin Dewar, also of Mabe, was nominated for Ladies Player of the Tour.
