THERE was a mixed bag of results for Helston, Porhleven and Penryn at the start of the 2014/15 South West Peninsula League West season.
A brace of goals from Mark Goldsworthy was enough to get Helston's campaign off on a positive note as they defeated Liskeard away 2-1.
Port did not have the same type if luck in their season opener with Bude Town as the Fisherman lost 2-1 at Gala Parc with a Steve Box penalty and a goal from Tommy Stratton winning it for the visitors.
Penryn were 1-0 up at half time against Sticker thanks to a goal from Luke Brabyn, but the hosts levelled in the second half to draw the game 1-1.
