ANOTHER striker could be coming to Helston Athletic as Sid Taylor looks to bolster up his attacking options.

Mark Goldsworthy started the season in fine form on Saturday as the Blues got their season under way at Liskeard Athletic with the forward bagging both his side’s goals in a 2-1 win.

In an attempt to take some of the pressure off Goldsworthy, who has been the club’s top marksman for the last couple of seasons, Taylor told the Packet he is looking at bringing in another striker to share the goals around with.

He is due to make a seven day approach later this week, although Athletic’s boss said he is unsure who the player will be.

Taylor said: “I think we do need another striker here to help Mark out.

“It is really good to already have him firing on all cylinders and on Saturday he showed how important he is to us.

“But he does need to be supported as well, which is why I feel another striker would be a good thing to bring in.

“I’ve had a look at a couple of players and have an idea of who I might go for, but I still need to make my mind up.”

Last night, a 90th minute goal from Charlie Young grabbed three points for Athletic in their first home game of the season against Mousehole.
