LIZARD FC A suffered a mini blip in their title bid after losing 5-4 to defending champions Helston FC A in Division One of the West CornwallSummer Pool League.

However, they still took a big step towards winning the title as they carry a six point lead into the last 2 games of the season.

Mark Jenkin, Gary Smith and Anthony Williams all won their singles for the football club in theirvictory.

Mullion FC are the Lizard's nearest challengers after a 6-3 win over Rodney Inn B and the Killigrew Inn gained their first win of the season with an 8-1 victory over the Lion & Lamb.

Godolphin Club C defeated Rodney Inn A 6-3.

Division Two leaders, Helston RFC A were leading 3-1 against the Bell Inn B team, but wins from Paul Morris, Suzi Dyer and Brydon Dyer helped the Bell side rally back to an excellent 5-4 win.

Bell Inn A also had a nice win defeating Helston RFC C 7-2 and the Boathouse gained a 5-4 win over Constantine SC.

Godolphin Club B had a big result in their chase for second spot defeating second placed team Helston RBL D 7-2, with singles wins coming from Alistair Bray, Bob Sanders, Bob Eustis and Jerry Varker.

All the games in Division Three resulted in a 6-3 win for the home side.

Leaders Angel Hotel A won against Red Lion B and wins from Nick Kenlay, Karl Hanson and Tony Hicks helped Red Lion A defeat Helston FC C.

Godolphin Club A recovered from a 3-1 deficit to defeat the Seven Stars and the Queens Arms won five out of the six singles in their 6-3 win over the Three Tuns.

In the team knockout Godolphin Club C won 5-0 against the Rodney Inn B team and they will face Red Lion A who won 5-2 against Helston RFC C.

In the other semi final Helston FC A will face the Angel Hotel A team.Venues to be advised for the semi finals.
