BARRY Hayles showed he can still do the business after scoring both of Truro City’s goals in a 2-1 win at Paulton Rovers on Tuesday night.
The veteran striker pounced in the 34th and 44th minute to give the White Tigers their first victory in the Southern Premier League this season.
His first score came as he popped up at the back post to nod in a header from a corner before adding to his tally moments before half time as he ran onto a through ball from Craig Duff and rounded Rovers goalkeeper Kyle Phillips to shoot home.
Either side of the 42-year-old former Fulham player’s goals, Nick McCootie pulled one back for the Somerset-based hosts from the penalty spot after being fouled by Jake Ash in the box.
Deep into second half injury time, Shane White was shown a red card for City, but the visitors managed to hold onto their lead.
