THE visit of Rosslyn Park to the Mennaye Field on Saturday rekindles an old fixture.
Kick off at Mennaye Field is at 3pm and the opponents despite being a league below the Pirates have some grand pedigree.
Formed in 1879, a number of famous names have played for the red & white hooped Surrey team over the years, including former England internationals John Ranson and Andy Ripley.
As for the modern day Rosslyn Park, it is clear that their side will provide stern opposition for the Pirates, noting that last season they ended their National League One campaign as impressive runners-up to Doncaster Knights.
Their head coach who will now be extra keen to ultimately make it into the Championship is former England lock Alex Codling.
He has worked with London Scottish and at Rotherham Titans in recent seasons, and in his squad there is a mix of gifted youngsters and proven experienced campaigners.
Backs Mark Ireland and JJ Kilmartin have worn the Pirates' colours, as has lock James Inglis who skippers their side.
In the Cornish Pirates team full-back Sam Marland, wing Alex Ducker, and prop Adam Jamieson make their home debuts, as likely will replacements Jamal Ford-Robinson and Stuart Townsend.
Also named on the bench is guest player Bertie Hopkin, who has played for Guildford and England Counties under 20s.
