PROMOTION chasing St Just seconds won at Trescobeas against Falmouth seconds by 42 runs, despite a fine spell from Sam O’Nyons.

The fifteen year old returned excellent figures of six for 30 from 9.1 overs to bowl St Just out for 173. Scott Meagor and Ryan Harvey both made half centuries.

Falmouth got to 60-1 before the innings fell away to 131 all out. Jacob Stephens made 24 and Tom Hoban 36. Ryan Harvey and Sam Mckenna both took four wickets.

Constantine were well beaten at Boulder Parc in the derby with Wendron. The visitors piled up 233 for seven with Tim Kitchen making 90 and Ryan Mitchell 62. Graham Griffiths took four for 44 with one each for Alan Dengler, Tim McCabe and Darren Griffiths.

The home batting failed with the first seven wickets falling for 45 runs. Chris Dengler made 18 not out in the 91 all out in the 36th over. The damage was done from a stunning spell from Ryan Mitchell. He took the remarkable figures of six for three.

Six of his eight overs were maidens.

Perranarworthal lost at home to title chasing Botallack & St Levan by four wickets. The home side were bowled out for 145 with Brian Fisher, 36, and Stuart Madeley, 35, the principle scorers. Stuart Nicholls and Paul Angove took four wickets each. The visitors top six all got double figures as they reached 146 for six in the 40th over. Angove completed a fine game to end on 38 not out. Trevellyan North did well to take four for 40 and Lee Coston two for nine from six overs.

In Division five Perranarworthal seconds scored 236-5 at Channel Four with Ben Shepherd, 72, and Tom Child, 71, sharing a second wicket stand of 127.

Falmouth thirds slipped to 37 for six before Francis Lowry made 57 not out and Luke Turner 27 in the 147 for nine. James Coston took five for 11 from eight overs. Truro won at Mawnan by 10 runs. Ian Snowdon made 35 and Barry Mercer 27 in their 140 all out.
