MULLION won a tight game at strugglers Beacon by two wickets at Tolcarne Road.

The home side were bowled out for 173 with Amron Creese making 51, after they had been 88-8. Trevor Lee took four for 29 from twelve overs and Ben Johnson bowled a tidy spell, only conceding 20 runs from twelve overs and claiming two wickets.

After losing Lee early on, the next six Mullion batsmen all got into double figures. Jim Pearson led the way with 51 and Ben Johnson hit 39.

The ninth wicket pair of Dean Fletcher and Charlie Hearn came together with 17 still needed but they got over the line with nine balls to spare.

The promotion hopes of Praze suffered a blow when they lost by 23 runs at neighbours Leedstown, who boosted their survival hopes.

Leedstown made 216-9. Praze were 196 all out with Ben and Tom James both making 47 at the top of the order.

Luke Stuckey bowled Leedstown to victory taking seven for 42.

Wendron pulled off a superb win at neighbours Constantine.

They piled up 233-7 with Tim Kitchen making 90 and Ryan Mitchell 62.

Graham Griffiths took four for 44 with one each for Alan Dengler, Tim McCabe and Darren Griffiths.

The home batting failed with the first seven wickets falling for 45 runs. Chris Dengler made 18 not out in the 91 all out in the 36th over.

The damage was done from a stunning spell from Ryan Mitchell.

He took the remarkable figures of six for three. Six of his eight overs were maidens.

Porthleven were bowled out for 93 at home to St Buryan with only Dean Bray, 16, and Bradley Bury, 15, in double figures.

Port put up a great fight however to lose by just one wicket.

They looked to have pulled off a tremendous win but the last pair of Vaughan Try, with ten not out, and number 11 Stephen Barker, 20 not out, won the day.

Bury took five for 19 from 12 overs and there were two each for Adam Young and Chris Higgs.

Helston seconds are top of Division Five after beating Mullion by five wickets with Justin Matthews making 78. Rivals Gulval lost to Stithians.
