CARMEL Connors was crowned the first ever winner of the Ladies Championship Day played for at Falmouth Golf Club last Tuesday.
She won the 36 hole scratch competition to collect the Coronation Cup in the inaugural edition of the contest.
Other cups were played for on the day with Carol Allan picking up the Coronation Trophy for the best nett score over the 36 holes while Gill Norris won the Devenish Cup which is played for by players with a handicap of under 20.
The Cheeper Cup, for handicaps between 21 and 29, went to Margaret Wallis and the Insley Trophy, handicaps of 30-36, was taken home by Lynn Innes.
