HELSTON Athletic have moved to the top of the South West Peninsula League West Division after beating Penzance 5-2 on Tuesday night.

The Blues have now won all four of their opening games of the season to open up a two point cushion over Illogan RBL.

In the match at Penlee Park, Mark Goldsworthy bagged two goals to send his tally for the season up to six while strikes from Ashley Stidwell, Kirk Davies and Mikey Davies also went in.

Ryan Trathen and Paul Cox scored for the hosts.

Also on Tuesday, Falmouth Town lost their second match of the season in the Peninsula Premier as they fell 3-1 to Saltash United at Bickland Park.

Josh Burton had given the Ambers a 1-0 half time lead, but goals from Matt CUsack, Sam Hughes and Toby Clark saw United take home three points.
